Camp Polk Meadow restoration video

A time lapse video of the restoration of Whychus Creek at Camp Polk Meadow Preserve.

Check out our time-lapse video of the Whychus Creek restoration at Camp Polk Meadow Preserve. This video shows the restoration work from May 26-July 3. Crews have finished the major construction work and we now wait until fall to begin planting native vegetation along the restored channel. Stay tuned!

Week 5: May 26-June 26
This video shows the restoration work from May 26-June 26. Watch as crews dig the channel right in front of the camera.

 

Week 4: May 26-June 19
This video shows the restoration work from May 26-June 19. The restored channel is really beginning to take shape!

 

Week 3: May 26-June 12
This video shows the restoration work from May 26-June 12. Crews are now working on digging the restored channel in the middle of the meadow. By the end of this clip you can see the curves of the restored Whychus Creek begin to show. 

 

Week 2: May 26-June 5
This video shows the restoration work from May 26-June 5. As you'll see towards the end of the video crews are now beginning to dig the restored channel in the mid-meadow (reach 3).

 

Week 1: May 26-29
This video shows the first week of the restoration work: May 25-29. As you'll see in the video most of the work is occuring either behind the camera or in the far reaches of the meadow. But rest assured work will start in front of the camera soon! 

Staging week: Mid-May
This video shows work during mid-May as crews begin to stage for the restoration.
