The Weed Warriors are a casual group of volunteers who visit Land Trust Preserves a few times a month to target specific weed infestations of mullein, spotted knapweed, teasel, Canada thistle etc.
Pulling and cutting of weeds may not sound like the most glamorous of activities but there is reward in the results! Nonnative vegetation is a major threat to functioning ecosystems and much of the control of these weeds is accomplished by hand by people like you. Weeding can be a meditative, zen-like activity where the hustle and bustle of life falls way to a simple task in beautiful surroundings!
Weed Warriors meet May through September on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday, and 2nd Saturday of each month.
If you would like to participate, please contact Larry Weinberg using the yellow button above.
Larry will put you on his email contact list and keep you up to date on Weed Warrior dates, times and places. Then, you choose your level of participation!
