Volunteers of the Year Awarded
The Land Trust was pleased to award our 2009 Volunteers of the Year at our annual Open House in October. These outstanding folks have given many, many hours of their time to the Land Trust in a variety of ways. We are so honored to work with them all. Congratulations to:
|
Bill Mitchell, 2009 Volunteer of the Year: Bill logged an astounding number of hours for the Land Trust both out in the field and in the office. A dedicated bird surveyor at Camp Polk, Bill also helps out with work parties, special stewardship projects, and an array of office projects. Thanks Bill for your dedication and effort! |

Her birding skills combined with a lifetime of experience as a teacher also made her a natural leader for the Land Trust’s tour program. He immediately adopted Camp Polk Meadow Preserve helping restore and maintain its ecology and history. Though Martin and his family are now moving out of the area, we are pleased to be able to name part of Camp Polk Meadow “Martin’s Meadow” in honor of this tremendous volunteer. Thanks Martin! |
