On May 11th the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs continued the reintroduction of native salmon and steelhead with fish releases in upper Deschutes basin tributaries.  Both Camp Polk Meadow Preserve, Rimrock Ranch, and Whychus Canyon Preserve saw reintroduced steelhead.

These releases continue to reinforce the importance of protecting land, such as Whychus Canyon Preserve, needed for salmon and steelhead to thrive in their home waters.  Additional releases are scheduled for other stream reaches this month.
