A day in the life of a squirrel

It's squirrel appreciation day and to celebrate, we're bringing you a glimpse into the life of a grey squirrel who lives at Camp Polk Meadow Preserve.

It's Squirrel Appreciation Day! To celebrate, we're giving you a glimpse into the life of a grey squirrel who lives at Camp Polk Meadow Preserve. The Preserve is home to a whole host of wildlife, including cougar, otters, elk, otter, and over 150 species of birds. But sometimes when you set up a wildlife camera hoping for a rare glimpse of a baby cougar, life hands you 19 different shots of a gray squirrel.

This little fella has made a home at Camp Polk Meadow, and we got a chuckle watching him go about his days. Sure, it's not a once-in-a-lifetime shot of a cougar capturing prey in the meadow, but we think there's beauty (and humor) in even the simplest things in nature. Don't you agree?
