“Since the Land Trust conserved some land near our home we've been impressed with how they protect this area. We now spend countless hours volunteering and we are members of the monthly giving club.”

Land Trust simplifies name

The Deschutes Land Trust has updated their name and look in preparation for large conservation projects like Skyline Forest.

The Deschutes Land Trust recently unveiled a simplified name and updated look as part of a larger effort to build support for some of the country’s largest and most ambitious land conservation projects.

Skyline Forest and other Land Trust projects require the Land Trust to expand capacity and outreach. The new name, a switch from Deschutes Basin Land Trust to Deschutes Land Trust, is simpler, easier to remember, and further emphasizes the work the Land Trust does protecting LAND in Central Oregon.

The Land Trust's new logo features a Western juniper. Like Western juniper, the Land Trust is native to this region and has developed deep roots in the community. Like the long-lived juniper, the Land Trust is here for the long-haul to ensure that land in Central Oregon is conserved for today and for tomorrow.

The work the Land Trust does, and has been doing for 13 years, has not changed. The Deschutes Land Trust conserves and protects land for wildlife, scenic views, and local communities.
