Land Trust submits initial Accreditation application

Commission seeking comments

In an effort to strengthen the national land trusts movement, the Land Trust Alliance recently created and independent commission to develop and implement a nationwide land trust accreditation program. The intent is to assure that land trusts are serving their communities well and meeting a comprehensive set of national standards.

This month the Land Trust submitted our initial application for the national land trust Accreditation program. The Accreditation Commission is currently reviewing our application to determine if we can apply for the Accreditation seal. During this pre-approval phase, the commission is seeking comments on the Deschutes Land Trust. Comments must relate to the Deschutes Land Trust’s compliance with national quality standards from Land Trust Standards and Practices. To comment on our application, visit the commission’s comment page
