Land Trust welcomes new board members

Geoff Barnard and Bill Rainey join Deschutes Land Trust Board of Directors.

The Land Trust is pleased to welcome two new Board members as of January 1, 2010.

GeoffBarnard

Geoff Barnard hails from Bend and brings to the Board a 33 year career in non-profit management. His experience as a vice-president of The Nature Conservancy for Latin America and as president of the Grand Canyon Trust provides much wealth for his current non-profit management consulting business. Geoff currently serves on the board of Central Oregon Resources for Independent Living (CORIL) and the Cascade Chorale Association. When not consulting or volunteering, he can be found fly fishing, bird watching, hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, or enjoying the grand girls with his wife Diane.

 

BillRaineyBill Rainey resides with his wife, Cindy, in Sisters. Bill, a retired lawyer, brings an extensive law background to the Board which includes practicing law for 37 years, 23 of which he served as general counsel for several publicly traded companies located in Arizona, Massachusetts, Kansas and California.  Bill is a lifelong physical fitness devotee and an avid hiker and bicyclist having hiked portions of the Appalachian and Long trails in the east, climbed several 14ers in the Rockies, and hiked many trails in the Cascades in Washington and Central Oregon.
