Last week's rains caused Whychus Creek to swell to more than 600 cfs! Camp Polk Meadow Preserve was once again covered in water as the Creek spread out across its floodplain. Watch a the video below of the high flows.

The restoration team is pleased to see the Creek using its floodplain. With each high flow Whychus Creek and the surrounding meadow develop more traditional floodplain characteristics. Now instead of dry meadow grasses, we are seeing cobbles and gravels and islands of vegetation. What a transformation!

In other Camp Polk news, the final Ripples of Change video about the Whychus Creek restoration is ready for viewing. Watch the video here!
