Whychus Creek Restoration nears final steps

Feb 10, 2012
February and March will be exciting months at Camp Polk Meadow Preserve, as we begin the final phase of the Whychus Creek restoration project.

February and March will be particularly exciting times at Camp Polk Meadow Preserve, as we begin implementation of the final phase of the Whychus Creek restoration project.

Although we began this project in 2009, the vision to return Whychus Creek to its original channel through Camp Polk Meadow was born a decade before.  This is truly a moment to mark--for people who have worked tirelessly to make the dream come true, and for the fish, wildlife, and local community it will benefit. The culmination of this vision and the multi-year, multi-agency partnership that has made the Whychus Creek restoration project successful will be an exciting moment in the history of Camp Polk Meadow Preserve.

In March our website will have a detailed piece on the restoration project, including videos and photos, along with information on how folks can get involved with spring plantings, special tours of the restoration site and more!

In the meantime, you can catch up with the project thus far on the restoration page of our website.  You'll find video, photos and lots of information about this partnership to restore Whychus Creek.
