Trailhead improvements at Whychus Canyon Preserve

Feb 22, 2016
New kiosk signs provide updated trail maps, Preserve guidelines, and thank the supporters who made the Preserve what it is today. These signs are the first step in a updated trailhead. Learn more...

We are pleased to report we've installed some new kiosk signs at Whychus Canyon Preserve!

Two new panels on the east side of the kiosk highlight our work on Whychus Creek and thank donors who helped acquire the Preserve. A huge thanks to all these folks who have made the Preserve what it is today!

The revised map panel on the west side of the kiosk highlights the new trails constructed in 2015 and the additional acres added on in 2014. It also further defines Preserve rules. Of note, dogs must be on leash at all times. Sadly for the wildlife, we have seen a spike in dogs off-leash at the Preserve. If this continues, we will no longer allow dogs at the Preserve. Please help us protect natural resources at the Preserve by following posted rules.

Finally, these new kiosk signs will soon be joined by some lovely juniper benches that will provide the perfect resting spot after your hike. Stay tuned!

Noxious weeds are a reality at all Land Trust protected lands. If they are not actively managed they compromise healthy native plant communities.
