"The Land Trust has the capacity to effect change on the ground, directly, with a minimum of administrative waste. I know my investment will be used to make a difference in Central Oregon for my children and those beyond."

Volunteers help restore Lake Creek

Volunteers will help re-plant a portion of the banks Lake Creek at the Land Trust's Metolius Preserve.

Culvert planting area
The banks of Lake Creek that are soon to be replanted with native vegetation.

The Land Trust, in partnership with the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council, will be planting 1,500 native plants along the stretch of Lake Creek where a culvert was removed in September. The culvert, located near the South Fork kiosk along the Becky Johnson Nature Trail, was a barrier to juvenile fish and has caused the creek to widen and erode.
