Greenprint

A partnership to map important greenspaces in Deschutes County.

Woodpecker Walk

The Greenprint for Deschutes County is a partnership led by the Deschutes Land Trust, the Trust for Public Land and Bend Metro Parks and Rec District to develop a community-based conservation vision with priorities and funding sources for land conservation in Deschutes County.

Greenprint Goal: develop a comprehensive, regional vision that focuses on the private lands most important to the community for conservation and recreation. This planning can help us maintain and improve the quality of life and economic vitality of our region.

Current Status of the Greenprint: Feedback about important lands for conservation and recreation is now being compiled. An initial map of the Greenprint will be presented to the community along with a strategy for implementation in the spring.

Get involved with the Greenprint:

  • Help spread the word. It's important that we get as much of the community as possible involved in this project. Help the Greenprint be a compelling and powerful plan--tell your friends and invite a Greenprint partner to present to your service club, business, recreation group, neighborhood or homeowners association. Visit the Greenprint partner page.

Learn more:

  • Why is the Greenprint important? Why now? Read Greenprint FAQs.
  • Read the results from an initial public opinion survey that shows that Deschutes County residents enjoy a high quality of life which they primarily attribute to the natural environment. The survey also indicated that residents were highly interested in safeguarding their quality of life by conserving natural areas and protecting water quality and wildlife habitat.
