Outreach Associate
The Deschutes Land Trust is seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) Outreach Associate to join its dedicated team! What you’ll do:
The Outreach Associate educates, encourages, communicates, connects and engages with the Deschutes Land Trust’s audiences. You are a core member of the outreach team creating communications and marketing materials, content, and events to engage and connect with constituents. You communicate, engage, grow, and coordinate our amazing and dedicated corps of volunteers who help the Land Trust meet its mission. Please see the detailed job description.

What you need:

  • Passion and commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the Deschutes Land Trust.
  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in communications, marketing, or related field including experience managing and creating strategies and campaigns for social media channels.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, layout and communication skills.
  • Rock solid project management skills and the ability to complete projects efficiently, effectively and while managing multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to 100% quality. 
  • Flexibility to work in a small, open and often busy office space.
  • A personable, professional, upbeat, energetic personality and the ability to use tact and diplomacy to communicate skillfully and effectively with a diverse community.
  • Mastery of current office computer applications, social media platforms, and web-based content management systems, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Spanish language fluency is desirable.  

What we offer:
The Deschutes Land Trust offers competitive salary and benefits to full-time staff. This includes health insurance, a 403B retirement plan with matched contributions, volunteer time off, 20 paid days off annually to start, and 10 paid holidays annually. All Land Trust staff are called upon to participate in tours of Land Trust properties which can include hiking off-trail in rugged terrain. Outreach staff frequently lift and carry tables, canopies, and display materials. The position is located in Bend, Oregon and includes time working on evenings and weekends.
