Thank you for being willing to lend a hand to protect the lands and waters of Central Oregon!

Volunteers are a huge part of conserving and caring for the land. By donating your time, you can help chart the future of Central Oregon and ensure that these lands will be here today, tomorrow, and for years to come.

To become a Land Trust volunteer, fill out our online Volunteer Application. We will add you to our volunteer email list and help you find the best ways to help conserve and care for the lands and waters of Central Oregon.

You can also peruse the list of general volunteer opportunities below, or visit our volunteer opportunities page where we post individual projects. If you find a project you'd like to help with, feel free to register directly online.

Volunteering at the Land Trust

Community Science
Collecting Data and helping with specific research projects! This includes bird, butterfly, plant, and wildlife surveys and can be great for folks interested in getting out on their own.

Help with plantings, trail clean-ups and maintenance, weed pulls, and all the other things we need to do to care for our protected lands. This is great for folks who want to get outside and get their hands dirty!

Office Support
Help us with data entry, mailings, and other office projects! This is great for folks who can’t make it out to the Preserves but want to support our work. Many of these projects can even be done from the comfort of your own home.

Event Support
Help with Land Trust events including set up, table staffing, logistics and more. This is a great option for folks who want to meet other people and talk about conservation!

Volunteer Naturalists
Lead or help with guided walks and hikes at Land Trust protected lands. This is a great option for folks who want to dive deep into the natural history of Central Oregon and share it with others!

Volunteer Ambassadors
Share the beauty of Land Trust protected lands through photography, art, and/or inspire others to connect with conservation online or in your community.  This is a great option for amazing artists and connectors in our community.

Group Volunteers
We would love to set up a stewardship work party for your group. This is a great way for employee groups, schools, or other organized volunteer groups to bond as a team while giving back to the community. If you are interested, please contact Sarah Mowry to discuss what kind of project may work for you.

Expert Volunteers
Do you have expertise you would like to share? Whether you have extensive knowledge of conservation law, wildlife, plants, fish, web development, graphic design, video production, or some other neat thing, we are always grateful to the folks who share their knowledge and skills with us.
