Adopt a Plot

We are working on a project to remove weeds and protect native vegetation at Hindman Springs!

Join us as we work to restore native plants to Hindman Springs. Last year we started a restoration project near the Hindman Barn. After preparing the soil, cooking out the weeds, and planting over 3,700 native grasses, flowers and shrubs we now need to keep a careful eye on our new native plants.

Volunteer teams of friends, family members, housemates, or neighbors tend plots on their own schedules and pull any weeds that find their way into their project. As plants mature, volunteers may also help monitor their growth! Get your hands dirty with restoration work by contacting us and we can help you find your perfect plot.

Help care for native plants within your plot and work to remove any weeds that creep their way into your section of the restoration project. This is a great volunteer job for folks with busy schedules to get involved. Volunteers may visit their plot on their own schedule and are invited to tend it regularly when they have spare time once or twice a month.

Join our stewardship staff and volunteers during a drop-in training to learn about your plot, the weeds you need to pull and how you can get started:
