Stream Sampling

Join the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council for a day of stream sampling along Whychus Creek! Volunteers will collect aquatic macroinvertebrates (water critters without skeletons) that help determine the overall health of the creek. In addition, learn how habitat restoration is changing stream conditions for salmon and steelhead while enjoying the scenery that surrounds Whychus Creek!

  • Aug 24th 8:30 am - 4:00 pm. Creekside Park, Sisters, OR.

Children 12+ are welcome with adult supervision.

It will be warm, but quick-dry pants are recommended.

Please bring: close-toed shoes, sunscreen, water, snacks, and a lunch for the day.

Waders or wading boots can be helpful if you have them but are not necessary, old sneakers make for great sampling shoes!
