Weed Warriors

The  Weed Warriors are a casual group of volunteers who visit Land Trust Preserves a few times a month to target specific weed infestations of mullein, spotted knapweed, teasel, Canada thistle, and others.

Pulling and cutting of weeds may not sound like the most glamorous of activities but there is reward in the results! Nonnative vegetation is a major threat to functioning ecosystems and much of the control of these weeds is accomplished by hand by people like you. Weeding can be a meditative, zen-like activity where the hustle and bustle of life falls way to a simple task in beautiful surroundings!

  • Weed Warriors begin meeting in May and continue through the summer on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday, and 2nd Saturday of each month.

  • September 19th Weed Warrior outing location: the Metolius Preserve

If you would like to participate, please contact Pat and Ginny. Pat and Ginny will put you on their email contact list and keep you up to date on Weed Warrior dates, times and places.
