Michele McKay is a Naturalist with a passion for nature: mountains, forests, rivers, and wildlife.

Michele McKay has a life-long passion for nature:  mountains, forests, rivers, and wildlife. In Klamath Falls she created a recycling program and was a conservation activist, including helping to prevent the construction of a dam on a free-flowing reach of the Klamath River. She moved to Bend in 1989 and spent over 10 years as Executive Director of the Environmental Center while raising a family, serving on community boards, and putting energy into numerous environmental organizations, including the Deschutes Land Trust at its inception. She recently became an OSU Master Naturalist. Her passion for nature, mega- and micro-fauna and flora, wildness, and habitat protection persists. She enjoys hiking, skiing, paddling, learning, and sharing her love of the land with others.
