Artists sought for City Walls at City Hall project

Jan 03, 2012
Artists will be paired with an organization focused on the environment and create art inspired by the organization's work.

The City of Bend Arts, Beautification & Culture Commission [ABC Commission] has created City Walls at City Hall [CWCH], a uniquely themed
quarterly juried art show held at Bend City Hall and built around the overall theme of inspiring community with art. CWCH is designed to support artists,
advocate for the business development aspect of the arts and develop successful partnerships to promote the arts.

Bend’s external environment inspires our internal environment (mental, physical, emotional & spiritual)

DATE + LOCATION: First Friday, April 6–Friday, Sept 28, 2012
Bend City Hall, 710 NW Wall Street

ABOUT: The exhibit will present the work of multiple juried artists. The artists will be paired with an organization focused on the environment and they will create their artwork inspired by their experiences of learning about the organization. A combined artist’s statement and organization description will be part of the exhibit.
One artist will be selected by the jury to meet with Bend 2030 to create a work of art inspired by the focus area, “Quality Environment.”

Each First Friday, artists and partners will share their work in “Meet the Artists & Organizations” from 5:30–6:30 pm.  The last First Friday is the People’s Choice Award Winner presentation at 7 pm.
