IRA Charitable Giving Option Continues

Nov 07, 2017
Consider donating to your Land Trust via your retirement account!

As we approach the holidays and the end of the calendar year, for many it’s time to think about year-end gifts. As you consider your options, be sure to look into charitable giving from your IRA!

If you are 70½ or older, you can make a charitable gift from your IRA without counting those gifts as part of your adjusted gross income. Charitable contributions can be made up to a maximum of $100,000, from eligible retirement accounts including traditional Individual Retirement Accounts and Roth IRAs.

Obviously, not everyone is in a position to make such a gift, but if you do qualify, it can be an important way to make a year-end charitable gift and help further the work of the Land Trust!
