A big thank you to all those who've helped bring Whychus Creek back to life! Your gifts to the Land Trust's Campaign for Whychus Creek have allowed us to raise well more than $1.8 million in private gifts and more than $4 million in pledged planned gifts. You can be assured that we'll leverage your generosity to the greatest extent as we pursue the remaining priority land protection projects on Whychus Creek, with pledged planned gifts helping provide the resources to manage these special places for generations to come.

While we still have funds to raise and work to do, pause and consider what you've already helped achieve. Over the past three years, your support has allowed us to:

  • Double the size of Whychus Canyon Preserve to 930 acres and conserve 4 miles of Whychus Creek;
  • Conserve another 1/2 mile of Whychus Creek and a valuable golden eagle nesting site at Aspen Hollow Preserve;
  • Finalize an agreement to eventually purchase the 1,120 acre Rimrock Ranch;
  • Conserve Willow Springs Preserve with one mile of Whychus Creek and important habitat for fish and wildlife.
  • Provide permanent stewardship of these lands so they can be returned to ecological health and remain healthy in the future.
  • Provide access and learning opportunities for the community along Whychus Creek.

Together, we've permanently conserved 9 1/2 miles of Whychus Creek. That is an impressive feat!

Your support means that not only are these remarkable places protected, but together we can continue to expand our restoration efforts to create a critical mass of high quality wildlife habitat along Whychus Creek. Central Oregon's wildlife truly need this kind of effort and I'd argue that we do as well. At a time when our communities are growing at incredible rates, your gifts create a legacy for our children and grandchildren. They too will have the heart of Central Oregon--Whychus Creek--to treasure and protect, but also to share with generations to come.  Thank you for your vision and dedication!
