This month, we are pleased to launch a new feature highlighting Deschutes Land Trust volunteers: the Volunteer Spotlight! Rain or shine, indoors or out, we truly could not conserve and care for our lands without our outstanding volunteers! That's why we want to honor them with a little time in the limelight. This month: MA Willson.
I had the pleasure of working with MA for the last 13 years as one of our amazing volunteer photographers. Always up for an adventure, MA would head out to photograph hikes, restoration projects, the tree hunt, or other Land Trust activities. One of her favorite projects was the day we returned Whychus Creek to its meandering path through Camp Polk Meadow Preserve in 2012.
In the last few years, MA even donated time helping to organize our vast photo archive. She was a delight to work with and such an artist behind the lens. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to MA last month, but we wanted to send her one last tribute and honor her for all that she's done for the Land Trust over the years. Thanks MA! We miss you!
