New Interpretive Signs at Metolius Preserve

Aug 01, 2019
New interpretive signs have been created for the Metolius Preserve.

The Metolius Preserve has seen some Preserve upgrades this summer. Improvements include:

  • New signs at the South Trailhead kiosk! We have replaced the aging kiosk signs at the Preserve with new signs. The South Trailhead kiosk includes general information about the Preserve, as well as details on some of the important natural features of the area and a list of those who supported the campaign to create the Metolius Preserve.
  • A new interpretive sign about the journey of a sockeye: At a viewing platform on the gravel Fir Trail, a new interpretive sign tells the story of the incredible journey of sockeye salmon from Suttle Lake through the Metolius Preserve to the ocean and back again.

We are happy to be sharing these improvements with you!
