Land Trust Hosts Annual Tree Hunt

Nov 10, 2021
We are excited to offer the Metolius Preserve Tree Hunt again this year, with COVID precautions! Bundle up and come join us on December 4th to cut your own holiday tree.

It's Tree Hunt time!

Join the Land Trust for this fun, festive annual event! Search for the perfect holiday tree while helping restore the native forests of the Metolius Preserve.

The Tree Hunt will be held on December 4th from 10am-2pm at the Land Trust's Metolius Preserve North Trailhead, weather and pandemic permitting. Please check our website for updates as we get closer to the hunt.

To help keep our community safe during the pandemic, we have a couple of new details for this year's Tree Hunt:

  • You and your group will need to pre-register for the Tree Hunt. Registration will open on Wednesday, November 10th at 8am Pacific Time. Click here to register and to find out the full details of our Tree Hunt.

  • You must bring and wear face masks: Per Oregon Health Authority (OHA) guidelines, all participants (regardless of vaccination status) must bring and wear a face mask whenever they cannot maintain 6 feet of social distance. This includes in the parking area (as soon as you exit your vehicle), in the check-in area, while looking for your tree (if you are close to another group), and while returning via trail to your vehicle.

Face masks must fit tight to the face, be worn over the nose and mouth, and must be secure enough to stay on while you're within 6 feet of those outside your group. Per OHA guidelines, face shields are not considered a face mask. The Land Trust will have extra face masks for use as needed.
