The Land Trust would like to extend a warm welcome to our new summer intern: Serena Turner.

Serena Turner is the Deschutes Land Trust’s Summer Intern from the Bill Lane Center for the American West at Stanford University. Entering her Junior year at Stanford, Serena is majoring in Symbolic Systems on the Neuroscience track and minoring in Earth Systems, Sustainability. After graduation, she hopes to further her studies with a master's degree in Sustainability Science and Practice.

Serena competes on the Stanford Beach Volleyball team and this past year co-founded the Stanford chapter of Sprout Up, an environmental education program for 1st and 2nd graders. She is passionate about further exploring and sustainably bridging human-environment interactions. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, she is excited to escape the heat and explore Central Oregon. You will find her on a new adventure whenever she can!
