Are you passionate about land conservation and building a vibrant, inclusive community? The Deschutes Land Trust is seeking new Board members who are excited to share their skills, lived experiences, and leadership in support of our mission to conserve and care for the lands and waters that sustain Central Oregon.

We are particularly looking to grow our Board with individuals who bring one or more of the following:

• Strong local connections, especially in Madras and surrounding areas.
• Deep engagement with or connection to millennials.
• Reflect and support the diverse backgrounds, cultures, and identities of people in Central Oregon.
• Background in finance, accounting, or investment management.
• Experience in agriculture, including farming, irrigation, ranching, or local food production.

We also value candidates who are:

• Willing to take on leadership roles over time.
• Eager to share their skills and contribute actively to Board discussions, committee work, and strategic planning.

Board terms are four years, and we meet approximately five times a year, both in person and remotely. Board members are also encouraged to serve on committees which require a commitment to an additional 5-10 meetings per year. We’re looking for up to six new Board members to join the board in January 2026. 

Prior Board experience is welcome but not required. We are committed to creating a diverse, inclusive Board culture where all members feel empowered to lead and make a meaningful impact.
