Have you checked out the Deschutes Public Library's Library of Things? With the Library of Things, you can check out more than books! There's a wide array of items, from pasta makers to pickleball supplies to banjo kits. And now there are some Exploring Nature kits, courtesy of the Deschutes Land Trust and your Library!

The Land Trust worked with the Library to provide two types of kits that are available in the Library of Things: the Exploring Birds Kit and the Exploring Butterflies Kit.

The Exploring Birds Kit comes with a quick guide to exploring birds, binoculars, and bird identification books.

The Exploring Butterflies Kit comes with a quick guide to exploring butterflies, binoculars, butterfly nets, an insect jar, and butterfly identification books.

All kits in the Library of Things are not holdable and must be checked out from and returned to their "home" libraries. Be sure to check out the Land Trust's Exploring Nature kits and learn more about birds and butterflies!
