As we begin 2026, the Land Trust would like to bid a fond farewell to two Board members who completed their terms of service at the end of 2025.

Melissa Kent joined the Board of Directors in 2017. A Bend resident since 2003, Melissa was passionate about helping maintain Central Oregon’s incredible quality of life and natural beauty. Melissa co-led the hiring process for our new Executive Director and brought business, financial and fundraising acumen to the Land Trust Board. She also served as President of the Board from 2022-2024.
Inge Wells also joined the Board of Directors in 2017. Inge brought a wealth of experience as an attorney in Oregon to the Land Trust’s Board, along with a deep dedication to the Metolius Preserve and Land Trust lands near her home in Camp Sherman. Inge served on the Board Executive Committee from 2022-2024 and was integral in the revision of our organizational bylaws.
“It has been such a pleasure to work with Melissa and Inge. They have enriched and supported our organization in so many ways. We know their involvement and support for the Land Trust will evolve and we look forward to continuing our work together.” said Rika Ayotte, the Land Trust’s executive director.
Thank you Melissa and Inge for your efforts! Your dedication, time, and passion was immeasurable to our success!
