The Madras Pioneer
It may have been Friday the 13th, but that did not scare off the volunteers from helping remove old barb wire fencing and posts along Trout Creek at Priday Ranch. Volunteers were greeted with sunshine for the workday.
The DLT has been renovating the acreage since its acquisition; removing excessive juniper trees, removing barb wire fencing (which interfere with wildlife movement and access to the creeks), while planting native grasses on the old alfalfa and hay fields. They have also been working on a comprehensive plan for improving the creeks for better steelhead trout habitat.
