Fire recovery can be a daunting process, but luckily our community has stepped up to help. Here are a list of resources to help with fire recovery if your home was impacted by the 2025 Flat Fire:
Events:
- October 18, 2025: Flat Fire Community Meeting (at Whychus Creek Estates Fire Station).
- October 27, 2025, 6-8pm: Central Oregon Post-Fire Recovery & Resources Public Meeting (at OSU Extension, Deschutes County Fairgrounds). Federal, state, and local agencies that provide technical and financial assistance will share resources and fire recovery steps. (More information to come!)
- November 3, 2025: Deschutes Land Trust Flat Fire Recovery Chat (virtual). Note: original date was 10/27, but was updated to avoid conflict with meeting above.
Resources:
- Flat Fire Community Resource Sheet. Contact information for various programs that offer landowner assistance post-fire. For example, reach out to Deschutes County for assistance with managing weeds after the fire, or the Oregon Department of Forestry for tree and forest related questions.
- Deschutes Soil and Water Conservation District Flat Fire Recovery Assistance Program. Financial assistance to Deschutes County landowners whose private properties were affected by the Flat Fire.
- Flat Fire Assistance Request Form. This form is meant to be filled out by individuals and families adversely affected by the Flat Fire.
