Mark your calendars and come lend a hand to care for Ochoco Creek!

The Rotary Club of Crook County, Crook County Parks and Recreation, the Deschutes Land Trust, SOLVE, Crook County, Republic Services, and Crooked Roots Brewing are joining together for a clean-up work party to remove trash from Ochoco Creek and local parks in Prineville on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 12-2:30pm.

If you would like to join the clean-up, here are a few things to know:

  • Online registration is highly suggested, but not required.
  • Registration and check-in will begin at 12pm at Pioneer Park in Prineville (corner of Elm St and NE 2nd St).
  • Youths under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or designated guardian. Those aged 12-18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • No one under 12 will be allowed to be in the Creek itself, but can help clean up the banks and along pathways.
  • Feel free to form your own team of four people, or you will be assigned to a team.

What to bring: Hip waders and/or rubber boots with good traction (if you have them), closed toe shoes, hat, sunscreen, eye protection or sunglasses, backpack for hands-free convenience, reusable water bottle, neoprene gloves if working in the creek. Dress for varying weather.

What's provided: Trash bags, pickers, vinyl gloves, and small first aid kits.

Thank you for caring about Ochoco Creek and our community!
