Weed Warriors
Join the Deschutes Land Trust and our Weed Warriors to protect our lands from invasive weeds!
The Weed Warriors volunteer group meets several times a month to help remove non-native weeds like spotted knapweed, teasel, mullein, and Canada thistle from Land Trust protected lands. Invasive weeds are a widespread challenge, as they can quickly establish themselves and outcompete native plants. This is a major threat to strong, healthy natural areas.
Whether you’re able to help once or multiple times throughout the season, your efforts through Weed Warriors help give native plant communities a better chance at not only surviving, but thriving in Central Oregon.
Rating: Work party with moderate physical activity that includes digging and pulling weeds out of uneven ground.
What to bring: Work gloves and weeding tools (if you have them), snacks/lunch, water, and closed toe shoes. Dress for the weather.
This is an adult-only work party. Volunteers 18 and over are welcome.
