Tree Hunt Help
Our annual Metolius Preserve Tree Hunt is coming up on Saturday, December 6, 2025, and we need lots of volunteers on hand to make it happen!
- Parking volunteers are needed from 9:30am-12pm and 12-2pm (5 volunteers needed per time slot). Parking volunteers will help direct traffic and park attendees.
- Check-in volunteers are needed from 10am-12pm and 12-2pm (2 volunteers needed per time slot). Check-in volunteers will use Eventbrite to check in attendees, provide supplies, and offer guidance on where the Tree Hunt is taking place and what trees to cut. They will also help keep the beverage area clean.
- Wreath making volunteers are needed from 10am-12pm and 12-2pm (2 volunteers needed per time slot). Wreath making volunteers will help cut tree boughs into smaller sizes for attendees using gardening clippers. They will also provide instructions to attendees on how to make a wreath (Land Trust staff will provide instruction to you ahead of time).
Email Mo Odell (mo@deschuteslandtrust.org) if you would like to help, or if you have any questions. Please include the volunteer position and time slot you would prefer.
Please note: The Tree Hunt is a fun, festive outdoor event! Volunteers must travel to the Metolius Preserve and arrive 15-30 minutes early for their shift as needed. You will be outside in potentially cold or wet weather and will navigate uneven, potentially snowy, terrain. Please plan on being on your feet throughout your shift.
