Volunteer Spotlight: Trail Stewards!

Sep 07, 2018 by Amanda Egertson
Each month, we're highlighting Land Trust volunteers. Rain or shine, indoors or out, we truly could not conserve and care for our lands without our outstanding volunteers! This month: our Trail Stewards!

What an amazing group of volunteers!! The trail stewards have been out in force this year--maintaining miles and miles of trails at Land Trust Preserves. These are the unsung heroes who arm themselves with rakes, loppers, and other tools necessary to keep our trails in great condition. Thank you!!

New to the trail steward team this year and deserving of a very special mention are Deb and Gary Weber. Deb and Gary have been helping maintain our Rim Trails at Whychus Canyon Preserve. This year has been a big year for the Rim Trails with lots of encroaching vegetation nearly covering the trail. Deb and Gary have done an amazing job of keeping the weeds and other vegetation at bay because of their determination and many, many hours of painstaking work! The amount of vegetation they’ve cleared from the Rim Trails is staggering and we’d like to send out a special thanks to them for their persistence and dedication.

Thank you, Deb and Gary!
