Thanks to those of you who attended our January 28th Nature Night, Central Oregon's Stealthy Sierra Nevada Red Fox! It was a lively look into what we’re learning about the high-elevation Houdinis known as Sierra Nevada red foxes. If you missed the presentation or would like to see parts of it again, you can watch a recording of her presentation below.
Jamie provided an incredible amount of information during her Nature Night presentation. Some of the resources and information she mentioned include:
- Oregon is Worth Protecting campaign
- iNaturalist—A great tool for recording wildlife sightings.
- Upcoming opportunities to volunteer with ODFW.
- Ways that you can support the Oregon Department of Wildlife include purchasing a Watch for Wildlife license plates, a tax checkoff for wildlife on your Oregon state tax return, supporting the Habitat Conservation Stamp program, and learning more about Oregon HB4134.
- How to identify the Sierra Nevada red fox by its scat! Distinguishing factors include tapered ends, a twisted look, and a small diameter (about the size of your pinky finger!).
